What's great about this one is how the pale lights adds such depth to this brilliant shot, Sean. And smoking just always look good. All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
Ditto here ... the paleness (not over-exposure ... you have done something to it) really makes him dreamy ... which is compounded by the slouch in his pose.
Funny thing about the "paleness" is that is the way it came out, and when I tried to contrast and darken it, it was in fact a little noisy. So I went the other way on it and went for the "old portrait" look. I would have cropped it oval but it did not go with the "look" of my blog... It was taken on Auto with a Powershot... with a decent zoom and 12mp so not much to work with :)
Absolutely great portrait, Sean.

ReplyDeleteHave you ever noticed how intelligent, aware, handsome, and debonair pipe smokers are?
ReplyDeleteFull disclosure: I do smoke a pipe. But I've never inhaled. :-)
Sorry Jacob, never noticed :)
ReplyDeleteIt is simple, Watson! She got the diamond!
ReplyDeleteI love this shot but unlike others I don't actually like the paleness of it.

ReplyDeleteReminds me of the author's portraits on booksleves in the 50's or 60's - *g* especially on Sartre copies. Must be the pipe.
ReplyDeleteUn certain je ne sais quoi here
ReplyDeleteIs he British?
