Interesting, isn't it: this one simply did not work for me. I have come back a couple of times now. The audience is a bunch of losers - why are they even there if he is so boring. But the image is not working for me mainly I think because it is one dimensional. Is that harsh? It's not meant to be. Usually I dive straight into your photos and get all sorts of layers. But here they are all disparate and I cannot get a handle of either what you are trying to say or what you think is the most important element of the image.
Harking back to R: subjectivity of the photographer and subjectivity of the viewer. Argh! Why can't I unlock this!!!
I am still not sure if this worked for me or not to be honest. I took it because I liked the pianists reflection. Nothing more. What bothered me too was the audience. He was very good in my opinion and captivated me. Julie, I do think you are right though, too many aspects but then this is one of those which works for some and not others... different strokes!
I've come back to this; unlike yourself and Julie I think the bearded guy makes it. How often when we see someone perfoming do we see people like him, wondering why he's there, jsut stopped because others did, and actually more interested in something 'stage left', although he doesn't even seem that interested in what he's looking at. I think it's an interesting shot that happens so often. I like it.
The crowd is interesting. Some seem enthralled, some seem to be sort of listening. Some must have just needed to stop to rest for a moment. And that one guy has a neck problem.
What a great shot; I love the reflection of the pianist, with the expressions on the faces in front of him.
ReplyDeleteHehe - the man in the white polo shirt looks so bored. Why is he even there?! You are also being watched with suspicion from some quarters, Sean.
ReplyDeleteThis by far is one of the best I've seen in a long time...It's amazing what a keen eye can catch in a photo. Thanks for sharing
